Watermills in the Ozark Mountains once served as centers of community in the 19th and early 20th Centuries. Slowly these mills fell into disuse and poor repair. Many of these iconic structures burned or were wiped out by floods. Usually these watermills sat in picturesque locations on spring creeks or rivers.
