St. Mary's Lake, Glacier National Park
St. Mary's Lake stretches westward into the heart of Glacier National Park in this aerial view In February, the lake is covered in ice and the mountains are blanketed with deep snow. Going to the Sun Road can be see in the upper right of the photograph as it winds along the northern border of the lake. Sun Poin and just above it Wild Goose Island are visible. These mountains are on the northern end of the Rocky Mountain Front in the United States. The Rocky Mountains stretch on into Alberta, Canada and include the region around Banff National Park near Calgary, Alberta. Photo © copyright by J. P. Bell.
